Shipping Container Build – One day workshop
Bringing together all the expertise needed to complete your shipping container home build in Ireland and the UK. Delivered by members of the teams that created the first homes in both the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland.
SCHEDULE
9.45am: Registration (Tea/Coffee)
10 – 11am: The morning session will start with an explanation on the structure of shipping containers in the context of building and a talk on the steelworks preparation required.
11.15 – 12.45pm: This will be followed by a workshop on insulating the structure (taking in both internal and external methods of insulation).
12.45 – 2pm: Break for LUNCH (provided)
2pm – 3pm: For the afternoon session, There will be a special presentation by Patrick Bradley, Architect of the celebrated shipping container home as featured on Grand Designs, Channel 4 in mid-2014. This episode was the most watched programme in the TV series’ 10 years of filming.
3-5pm: The final session for the day will be a two-hour panel Q&A with building professionals who have successfully completed container homes in Ireland and the UK
